Tom Schrier holds a
Bachelor's Degree in Restaurant, Hotel, Institution, and Tourism
Management from Purdue University and a Master's of Business
Administration Degree with a dual major in Information Systems and
Entrepreneurship from Ball State University. He is currently a
doctoral student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is
in the process of finishing his dissertation focusing on factors that
affect consumer's intentions to utilize guest empowerment technology.
His areas of research have focused on theoretical and applied
technology issues, problem gambling, and theme park management.
He has taught classes in Human Resources Management, Computer
Applications, and Amusement Park Administration. Tom is a member
of several industry organizations including the Hospitality
Information Technology Association, Hospitality Financial &
Technology Professions, and the UNLV Hotel Graduate Student
Association. Prior to starting the Ph.D. program Tom was
employed for over eight years in various levels of management in the
hospitality industry as well as two years in the secondary education
sector. Tom plans to complete his doctoral degree in May 2009. Currently he is in the process of interviewing for faculty positions at several universities. If you would like to contact Tom please send an
